Audrey is almost 3 months old!

I've been too busy to post anything! Audrey arrived on August 29th as scheduled! The first week after the C-Section was rough! I felt pretty awful. It was very painful to hop around with my incision. My staples fell out! But I am now walking, driving, and going down the stairs! Audrey is a great baby and I'm happy to be mostly back to normal. I had my last appointment with the OS this week and he said my x-rays looked great! I have my last physical therapy session on Monday.

One week until C-Section!

I'm counting the days until my C-Section! I can't wait to meet my little girl! Not to mention get rid of this giant belly that I've been hopping around with! I have a follow up appointment on Monday with the Ankle Dr. and also an appointment with my OB. I'm hoping the next week passes quickly!

Survived the surgery

Well, I survived the ankle surgery. It was almost a week ago on 8/14. It was worse than I had anticipated. I had to be awake for the whole thing and it was a three hour long surgery. At first I wasn't in too much pain, but by 12:30 that night I was totally miserable. I had to call my OB in the middle of the night and my husband had to go pick up some stonger drugs for me in the middle of the night. Fortunately those got me through the first few days. Monday (8/18) I went back to the Orthopedic Surgeon (OS) and got my walking boot back on. Although I can't actually walk on it for several more weeks. I also saw my OB, who switched me from Lovenox to Heparin. I have to take blood thinners because the pregnancy puts me at increased risk for blood clots. I've been keeping busy, but it is really frustrating being stuck here on the couch. I know I'm in for a long few weeks!

What's next...

I am scheduled to have ankle surgery on Monday August 11, 2008. They plan to do an epidural so I will be awake during the procedure (I really hope I don't hear any bone grinding noises!!) They also want to keep me overnight in the hospital. Ick! I hate being in the hospital! My big concern right now is that I have a C-Section scheduled for August 22, 2008. After a C-Section it's important to get up and move around to help the healing process. However, I don't want to be hopping with a walker and an abdominal incision! I'm anxious to speak with the surgeon on Monday and find out if there is any chance of getting a walking boot before my baby girl is born. Stay tuned! I will update as I have new information!

It all started on August 6, 2008...

I should have stayed in bed! I went out to get in my van for work and realized that my windshield had been busted by an errant golf ball (we live on a golf course). I went to work for few hours, had my regular check up with the OB, met Josh for lunch, and then went to the pregnancy massage I had booked for myself. What a treat! I picked up Sean (our 2 year old from school) came home and went upstairs to get changed. I decided to grab a basket of laundry to bring down with me. I missed the last step on the stairs and fell. I yelled for Sean to come and help me and he really tried to go get my purse so I could call my husband, Josh, but he couldn't find it. So I drug myself to the kitchen and called my husband to come home. I laid there on the floor until he got there and we went to the urgent care. Mistake #1. We should have gone to the emergency room. The urgent care wouldn't x-ray me b/c I'm pregnant. We had to wait until the next day to get an appointment with an orthopedist. Thursday afternoon we found out that my ankle was in fact broken...
